based on a yugioh episode and coversations with weird people..
pay attention to the helicopter its a sort of side story that none of them were concerned about at the moment. XD
if youve seen yugioh lately, you dont have to read past this point, but if you havent, or if you just need a recap, then read on:
Rafael is a bad guy, who thinks that he actually is working for the good side (its always like that XD) and hes convinced that yami/yugi (i'm assuming that you all know about the yami-yugi body-sharing crisis..) was an evil pharaoh back in ancient egypt and that hes the one responsible for the destruction of egypt back then. so he challenges yami to a duel on this sort of precipice where he has to cross a bridge, and when yami crossed he cut the rope so he couldnt escape or anything.
theres a card called the Seal of Orekalcos howeveryouspellit, and only the bad guys on rafael's side have it, and when its played you cant remove it from the field, and it sort of makes a circle around both players, and the loser gets his soul taken and given to the great leviathan. (thats some kind of ancient dragon.)
the leader on rafael's side wants the pharaoh's soul cuz it can ressurect the great leviathan faster that way.
so anyway, rafael doesnt play that card during the duel, instead he plays another card where each player has to trade a card in their hand with one of the opponent's card, and he gives yami the Seal. he does this to prove he was evil, b/c if he was good he would never play that card. but as destiny has it, yami couldnt resist, he played the card, and lost to rafael anyway. the seal was about to take his soul, but little yugi, the good guy, comes and pushes yami's soul out of the way and his soul gets taken instead. (of course, rafael cant see this, but they let the viewer see what yami & yugi see.)
yami falls unconcious, just as joey and tristan arrived acoss the canyon (cuz they werent with him at the time). rafael's helicopter comes to pick him up, and he takes yami/yugi's body and sort of throws it across to the two and flies off (all this time he thinks yami is a goner). yami wakes up, starts blaming himself, saying its not fair and it was his fault that yugi's gone, and thats where i took over. ^__^
(i know that was kinda long but.. thats the only way i could explain it sorry...
